New Delhi, July 11: Sudhanshu Trivedi, a Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has targeted Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the ruling National Conference party.
He stated that Abdullah made an extremely irresponsible and condemnable statement today. Without presenting any evidence, he attempted to make baseless allegations that BJP legislators are trying to separate from their party. Such unfounded accusations seem to be an attempt to divert attention from issues of administrative incompetence, ineptitude, and misgovernance. We strongly condemn these remarks. We urge Omar Abdullah to either provide evidence to support his claims or apologize for his statement.
Trivedi emphasized that the reality is that Abdullah has made such nonsensical accusations to hide the incompetence and misgovernance of his own government in Jammu and Kashmir. We denounce this strongly. Our demand is that the Chief Minister either present evidence for these allegations or apologize for his statement.
He further stated that he would like to remind the Jammu and Kashmir government to fulfill their duties while holding a constitutional position and serve the public, rather than making such accusations to cover up their incompetence.
Earlier, Chief Minister Abdullah and the Vice President of the ruling National Conference (NC) accused others of plotting to break his party. He claimed that offers of 20-30 crore rupees and promises of statehood were being made to legislators to topple his government.
Abdullah asserted that when offers of money and ministerial positions failed, attempts are now being made behind closed doors to lure our legislators. He vowed to ensure that the BJP cannot indirectly infiltrate the region.
Abdullah alleged that attempts are being made to induce defections within the National Conference. He claimed that a legislator from Jammu was promised 20-30 crore rupees, a ministerial position, and statehood to switch sides. These efforts are aimed at weakening the National Conference, but our party will not bend under political pressure.
