Supreme Court to Hear Rahul Gandhis Case Involving Female Journalist on October 26
The Supreme Court will address allegations against Rahul Gandhi involving a female journalist on October 26, as economic concerns arise.

New Delhi, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : The Supreme Court is set to hear allegations against Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and a Congress MP, involving an incident with a female journalist. This hearing is scheduled for October 26.
Gaurav Bhatia, a national spokesperson for the BJP and a lawyer, presented the case before the Chief Justice of India (CJI). He requested the court to confirm whether a notice had been issued regarding the matter and to set a date for the hearing.
In response, the CJI noted that notices had already been issued for all petitions presented the previous day. The court will proceed with the hearing as planned.
Additionally, lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai raised concerns about potential economic harm to shopkeepers and businesses in Connaught Place due to ongoing protests. The CJI expressed hope that all parties would act sensibly, especially during the festive season when small businesses rely on increased earnings. He emphasized the importance of balancing the rights of protesters with the livelihoods of small traders.
Justice Bagchi added that if the protests lead to financial losses for shopkeepers, the Supreme Court may exercise its constitutional rights to intervene. For now, the court will observe how the situation unfolds.
The allegations against Rahul Gandhi stem from an incident during the Supreme Court march organized by the India Bloc on October 12, where he was accused of misconduct towards the journalist, who claims to be three months pregnant. The Supreme Court will address the petition related to this case on October 26.
