In his caption, Ghai referred to Sharma as a genius, a mentor, and a legend. He wrote, “Artists like Pyarelal Sharma are rare, and having the opportunity to learn from him is a privilege. I learned from him that music should not be confined to mere tunes; it must be intertwined with the story, characters, and scenes to become the soul of the film.”
He further added, “Pyarelal Sharma has a big heart and always helps those serious about learning music. I am grateful for all the lessons I learned from him, which have greatly aided my cinematic journey. I wish you a long life and good health. We are all your fans and will always remain so.”
Pyarelal Sharma was part of the famous music duo ‘Laxmikant-Pyarelal,’ which dominated Hindi cinema for nearly six decades. Together with the late composer Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar, Sharma contributed music to hundreds of films, creating songs that are still cherished today. Their melodies redefined Hindi cinema from the 1960s to the 1990s.
This duo provided unforgettable music for several iconic films, including ‘Karma,’ ‘Hero,’ ‘Amar Akbar Anthony,’ ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram,’ and ‘Ram Lakhan.’ They composed music for over 500 films during their illustrious career.
