Akhil Sachdeva Reveals the Story Behind Piya Ghar Aaya for Emraan Hashmis Film

Mumbai, August 30: Emraan Hashmi has cultivated a unique fan base through his films and characters. Each song crafted for his movies encapsulates not just music and lyrics but also the nostalgia and emotions of his fans.

The recently released song “Piya Ghar Aaya – Homecoming” from the film “Awarapan 2” reflects this sentiment. Composer Akhil Sachdeva shared insights about the creative process behind the song.

In an interview, Sachdeva explained his thought process while creating the track, emphasizing the importance of emotion in his music. “For me, music is not about copying someone else’s opinion; it’s about expressing what comes from the heart. However, adjustments are made based on the producer or director’s needs. I am thrilled that ‘Piya Ghar Aaya’ has resonated with people,” he stated.

Sachdeva noted that the song is a blend of Hindi and Punjabi, incorporating Punjabi words to capture Emraan Hashmi’s star image and the fervor of his fans. He shared his intriguing concept: “I imagined how I would feel if Emraan Hashmi were right in front of me. While composing, I viewed myself as a fan, reflecting on the time 15 years ago when I was not a composer but a viewer of his films.”

He expressed his desire to write about the impact Hashmi has had on millions of fans. “My Punjabi comes naturally, fitting well with my style, which is how I presented this song. I am glad the makers did not change a single word. I trusted my instincts. I structured the song to utilize my lower notes effectively. It’s a blessing that my bass is strong,” he added.

Sachdeva believes that lower notes provide a unique texture to the song. “I aimed to use this quality to draw listeners in and create a distinct emotional experience,” he concluded.
