Strong Weather System in Madhya Pradesh: Heavy Rain Alert from 21 August, Alert Issued for 9 Districts Today

Bhopal, 19 August (Kiran News). The monsoon has become active once again in Madhya Pradesh. Due to a strong weather system, the entire state will experience rainfall in the last days of August. Districts in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and Narmadapuram divisions are expected to be affected the most. Here, a warning for very heavy rainfall has been issued from 21 August. Even before this, rain activities are ongoing. Today, on Tuesday, an alert for heavy rainfall has been issued in 9 districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, a monsoon trough is passing through the state. Due to this, there is heavy rainfall in Indore and Ujjain divisions. Additionally, two cyclonic circulations, two troughs, and one low-pressure area are active. As a result, many parts of the state are likely to experience heavy rainfall in the next three days. Particularly, there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall in Dewas, Harda, Khandwa, and Burhanpur, where up to 8.5 inches of rain may fall within 24 hours. In the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall is also expected in Alirajpur, Barwani, Khargone, Betul, Chhindwara, and Pandhurna, with an estimated 4.5 inches of rain. After this, the system will become even stronger. On 21 and 22 August, the southern and eastern parts of the state will receive significant rainfall.

On Monday, several places in the state experienced both heavy and light rainfall. Indore received more than 1 inch of rain. Ujjain saw nearly 1 inch, and Damoh received half an inch of rainfall. In the capital Bhopal, the city saw intermittent heavy and light showers after noon. Light rainfall was also recorded at night in districts including Shajapur, Ratlam, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Betul, Guna, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Jabalpur, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Satna, Umaria, Dewas, Sehore, Rajgarh, and Vidisha. So far, the state has received an average of 31.5 inches of rainfall.
