New Delhi, June 8: In response to the growing issues of illegal parking and encroachments, officials from the Delhi Traffic Police and the Municipal Corporation convened an important coordination meeting. The aim was to enhance traffic management on the city’s roads and reduce the inconveniences faced by residents.
During the meeting, officials acknowledged that illegal parking on public roads, encroachments on sidewalks, and unauthorized occupations are major contributors to traffic congestion in the capital. These issues not only disrupt vehicle movement but also pose challenges for pedestrians. Furthermore, they negatively impact road safety.
Officials expressed concern that such encroachments and illegal parking also detract from the city’s beauty and cleanliness. There is a pressing need for improved coordination among the relevant departments and regular enforcement actions to address these issues.
It was decided that all involved departments would collaborate on a joint action plan. This plan will focus on identifying encroached areas and expediting their removal. Additionally, strict measures will be taken against those engaging in illegal parking. Sensitive and crowded areas will be monitored continuously to prevent the recurrence of these problems.
Officials also agreed that teams from various departments would conduct regular joint inspections to ensure swift resolution of issues through mutual coordination. All officials present at the meeting committed to ongoing efforts to maintain a smooth, safe, and organized traffic system in the capital.
According to the officials, this joint initiative is expected to improve traffic management, promote road discipline, and provide greater convenience to the public. It will also contribute to making New Delhi cleaner, more beautiful, and better organized.
