Ahmedabad, June 8: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is actively working to provide essential services through its base department. They have established a total of 47 Aadhaar card enrollment centers across various areas of the city. This initiative aims to assist residents in obtaining new Aadhaar cards and making necessary corrections. To enhance accessibility, AMC has introduced a special program to deliver Aadhaar services to the disabled, differently-abled, and senior citizens at their homes and hospitals.
Recently, 36-year-old Parth Nandu Patel, admitted to UN Mehta Hospital in Asarwa, was unable to visit an enrollment center. His family applied for hospital enrollment to rectify his Aadhaar card, which was essential for availing benefits under the Prime Minister‘s Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY).
The application was sent to AMC by the Gujarat Aadhaar State Office via the designated email. Upon receiving the application, the AMC’s Aadhaar department took immediate action. They instructed the zonal supervisor to verify the necessary documents and evidence through a WhatsApp group. Once all submitted evidence was confirmed as valid according to UIDAI guidelines, the AMC staff arrived at UN Mehta Hospital on June 6 with the UID enrollment kit. They successfully registered and updated the applicant’s Aadhaar card.
Now, Parth Nandu Patel can easily access essential government schemes, thanks to the availability of Aadhaar services at the hospital. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has stated its commitment to providing Aadhaar-related services to the disabled and senior citizens near their homes and in hospitals. AMC is continuously striving to ensure that welfare schemes like PM-JAY reach every needy citizen promptly.
