Two tragic cases of domestic violence have shocked residents of the Delhi-NCR region, with allegations against stepfathers for the brutal killings of their stepsons. One incident occurred in Shastri Park, Delhi, and the other in Faridabad, Haryana.
In Shastri Park, Northeast Delhi, the body of 12-year-old Altamash was found in a forested area. The seventh-grade student was reportedly lured away from school by his stepfather, who then allegedly murdered him with a sharp weapon.
Police reports reveal that the child was subjected to extreme cruelty, including having his eyes gouged out and one of his hands broken. Altamash’s mother stated that the accused frequently threatened to kill her children but she initially did not take these threats seriously.
She added, “He always hated my children. He took my son from school and killed him. After doing this, he called me on video and confessed.”
Altamash’s brother, Aman, learned of the horrifying crime when the accused sent a photo of the body around 3 a.m. The body was sent for postmortem examination at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. The accused is currently absconding. Delhi Police have deployed forensic teams and are questioning acquaintances of the suspect to trace him.
Meanwhile, in Faridabad’s Sector 58, police arrested a man on charges of brutally murdering his two-year-old stepson on January 25. The child was one of three children from the wife’s previous marriage.
Investigations indicated the accused harboured hatred towards the child and frequently assaulted him over minor issues. On the day of the incident, the child was beaten severely, losing consciousness. Family members rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police noted multiple serious injuries on the child’s body, suggesting prolonged and harsh abuse. A murder case has been registered, and the accused is being questioned to understand the motive behind this act.
