New Delhi, March 31: Samajwadi Party MP Rajiv Kumar Rai has refuted the statement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Naxalism. He asserted that the government should apologize, claiming it is spreading falsehoods.
In a conversation, Rai stated, “First and foremost, the government should apologize. In every state where elections occur, the government spreads lies and claims credit for actions taken. The fight against Naxalism has been ongoing for a long time, and there is nothing new about it.”
Regarding the issue of infiltrators, he questioned, “Where have the infiltrators from Jharkhand, Bihar, and Delhi gone? When four individuals were caught in Uttar Pradesh, they were taken and dropped off in Bengal. If such an incompetent government talks about infiltrators without providing any data after elections, it poses a significant threat to the country.”
He continued, “The minister and the government’s statements are well-known across the nation. They speak in places where they should not. Such statements are meant to distract the public. You enter politics with an agenda, speak in the morning, and your script is already prepared. When Shrikant Shinde issued a notice, we also issued several notices. They fight elections based on narratives that have no connection to the reality of the country.”
Rai added, “They used to talk about a Congress-free India; no one supports violence. Injustice occurs based on caste, religion, and environment. No one is born a Naxalite. If the government continues to adopt repressive policies and discriminates, it may sound good in speeches, but the reality on the ground is different.”
Meanwhile, Congress MP Imran Masood responded to Amit Shah’s remarks, saying, “If Naxalism has ended, that is welcome, but who made the sacrifices for it? The Congress made the sacrifices, and our entire leadership was lost because of it. Salwa Judum was initiated by Congress. We lost our entire leadership in this struggle. You question us, but Congress is the party of martyrs. The Congress that sacrificed in the freedom struggle and against terrorism has lost its entire leadership. Questioning Congress will only lead to questions about you.”
