The De Silva family, which has been associated with the tea business since 1936, established Tea Avenue to carry forward its heritage through a modern café culture. With over four generations of expertise, the brand has grown into a lifestyle destination that offers tea in its purest and most innovative forms.

“India has a deep cultural connection with tea, and Tea Avenue is more than just a café – it is a sensory journey rooted in heritage,” said Gaurav Marya, Chairman of Franchise India Group. “This collaboration is focused on delivering authenticity, innovation, and modern tea experiences at a time when demand for artisanal and high-quality food and beverage concepts is at its peak.”

Under the partnership, Tea Avenue plans to open several outlets in metropolitan cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru over the next 12 to 18 months. The brand will operate under a Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated (FOFO) model, offering flexible formats including full cafés, mini cafés, hotel tea corners, and kiosks.

“India has always been a dream destination for us,” said Sajeev De Silva, Founder of Tea Avenue. “There is a special cultural and emotional connection between Sri Lanka and India when it comes to tea. With FranGlobal’s expertise and reach, we are confident of building strong ties with Indian tea lovers.”

The brand will also offer retail products such as premium tea tins, assortment boxes, and gift sets, giving customers the option to enjoy its offerings at home.

With a vision to launch over 200 outlets worldwide by 2035, the Indo-Lankan partnership aims to redefine premium tea experiences in India through both sit-down cafés and quick-service formats.
