Piyush Goyal Highlights Indias Manufacturing Ecosystem and Opportunities in London

London, June 27: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized India’s robust manufacturing ecosystem and the vast opportunities across various sectors during a productive roundtable meeting with senior executives from leading global companies. This meeting aimed to strengthen economic partnerships and explore future opportunities.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Goyal noted the significance of the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) in enhancing the partnership between the two nations. He also held an interactive lunch meeting with members of the UK-India Business Council (UKIBC), discussing ways to promote economic cooperation between India and the UK.

“The main goal of our discussions was to unlock new opportunities, accelerate investments, and deepen collaboration across various sectors to enhance India’s global competitiveness,” Goyal stated.

Additionally, he addressed faculty, students, alumni, and industry representatives at the London Business School. He participated in a special fireside chat, underscoring the vital role of education in strengthening India-UK relations. Students, professionals, and entrepreneurs can significantly contribute to cooperation, innovation, and relationships between the two countries.

Goyal further mentioned that the India-UK CETA would open new doors for opportunities and elevate partnerships across various sectors. He arrived in the UK with one of India’s largest business delegations, comprising over 160 leading Indian companies, aiming to solidify the historic economic partnership at the grassroots level.

Earlier, while addressing a business plenary session, he remarked that India-UK relations are rapidly strengthening. The CETA, set to take effect on July 15, 2026, will usher in a new chapter in bilateral relations.

He expressed enthusiasm about engaging with industry leaders from various sectors, stating that the implementation of the India-UK CETA would create new avenues for growth. Goyal urged business leaders from both countries to enhance collaboration, accelerate innovation, and invest more for shared prosperity.

Goyal also participated in a welcome ceremony for the Indian women’s cricket team, praising their remarkable performance, determination, and excellence, which inspire millions of young girls and athletes across the nation. He wished the team success in the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup matches, expressing confidence that they would bring home the trophy.
