Ayodhya, August 24: Samajwadi Party MP Avadhesh Prasad has launched a scathing attack on the BJP. He accused the party of targeting its workers and criticized the Chief Minister‘s comments regarding the Public Distribution System (PDS), as well as the rising sugar prices.
In an interview with a news agency in Ayodhya, Prasad stated, “The situation is such that CM Yogi is troubled by the PDS. He realizes that the PDS is gaining strength and could lead to his downfall. The PDS could make Akhilesh Yadav the next Chief Minister, which is why he is concerned. The growing power, enthusiasm, and confidence of the PDS are troubling him. The language used by CM Yogi is against the Constitution.”
The SP MP further alleged, “The BJP is systematically persecuting Samajwadi Party workers across the state. As elections approach, they will intensify these efforts. They aim to intimidate people, coerce them into their fold, and manipulate support for the elections.”
On the rising sugar prices, Avadhesh Prasad remarked, “Sugar was previously priced at 45 rupees per kilogram, but now it has risen to 65 rupees, and in some places, it is being sold for as much as 70 rupees. This significant price hike indicates that the government is operating in favor of industrialists. The government shows no concern for the consumers, youth, farmers, or students in the state.”
He added, “The government is not addressing inflation; instead, it is solely focused on preparing for the 2027 assembly elections. They are catering to industrialists and providing them benefits. While prices of various goods have increased, the price of sugar has skyrocketed overnight. This is an injustice to the common people.”
