Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Praises Enthusiasm for Laxmi Scheme

New Delhi, August 23: Ahead of the launch of the Delhi Laxmi Scheme, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta commended the enthusiasm among women to benefit from the initiative, which offers financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month.

In a message on the social media platform ‘X’, the Chief Minister stated, “The goal of the Delhi Laxmi Scheme is to bring greater financial stability, confidence, and freedom into everyday life. The overwhelming enthusiasm among women across Delhi shows how deeply this initiative resonates with their hopes. Their trust is our blessing and our greatest motivation to work.”

Previously, Chief Minister Gupta announced that the process of distributing letters to eligible women for monthly financial assistance would commence on August 26 at an event in Talkatora Stadium.

An official statement mentioned, “At the event, eligible women will receive official letters for the scheme, and funds will start being credited directly to their bank accounts from September 1. This process will continue, ensuring that eligible women regularly benefit from the scheme.”

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is closely monitoring the preparations for issuing letters under the scheme.

In a recent review meeting, she revealed that within just 18 days of the scheme’s launch, nearly eight lakh women had registered on the portal, with over five lakh applications submitted.

She emphasized the crucial role of district-level committees in the scheme’s success.

Gupta urged committee officials to thoroughly scrutinize and monitor each application to ensure that eligible women receive the benefits without delay.

“The faster the verification process is completed, the quicker the cases will be resolved, and the quicker the pension disbursement process will proceed,” she stated.

The Chief Minister noted that local representatives are also part of the district-level committees, so any suspicious application should be thoroughly investigated to avoid future issues.

Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma, along with the heads and officials of the district-level approval, monitoring, and grievance redressal committees established for the scheme, also attended the meeting.

The committee reviewed the progress of the scheme and praised the work accomplished in such a short time.

During the meeting, committee officials informed the Chief Minister that women are showing significant enthusiasm and interest in the Delhi Laxmi Scheme.
