Kolkata, August 13 (Kiran News). While South Bengal continues to reel under intense humidity, the next 48 hours are expected to bring heavy rainfall to North Bengal. The Alipore Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts on Wednesday and Thursday, forecasting rainfall exceeding 200 mm. Orange alerts have been issued for Darjeeling and Kalimpong for heavy to very heavy rain, while Uttar Dinajpur is on alert for heavy rainfall. Although rainfall intensity in North Bengal may decrease from Friday, the risk of landslides and floods will persist.
