
Beijing, June 1: The finals of the Sixth Macau University Diplomatic Speech Competition took place on May 31 at the Macau Polytechnic University, located in the Macau Special Administrative Region of China. The theme of the competition was “Leveraging Macau’s Unique Institutional and Cultural Advantages to Promote Global Governance Initiatives.”
Eight competitors from Macau’s universities showcased their skills on a single stage. During the event, participants articulated their understanding of the superiority of Macau’s “One Country, Two Systems” framework and the benefits of blending Chinese and Western cultures. They also shared inspiring stories of Macau’s youth implementing global governance initiatives.
Competitors noted that this competition significantly enhanced their ability to analyze international situations and communicate effectively with the public.
It’s noteworthy that the Macau University Diplomatic Speech Competition is a public diplomacy initiative co-established by the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Commissioner’s Office in Macau and the local government. Its aim is to raise awareness among Macau’s universities about major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics and related diplomatic issues, while promoting patriotism and love for Macau within the academic community.
