Six Police Officers Suspended in Raigad for Mishandling Seized Goods

Mumbai, April 25: A significant action has taken place in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, where six police officers have been suspended. This decision was made by Raigad’s Superintendent of Police, Aanchal Dalal, following a previous incident in Pen-Khopoli.

These six officers from the local crime investigation branch were involved in a theft case in the Kolad area. The police had seized valuable items related to this incident, but these officers failed to properly document the seized goods at the Mangaon police station. Due to violations of protocol and procedural lapses, the Superintendent took strict measures against them.

Among those suspended are one sub-inspector and five constables: Avinash Patil, Pingale, Waghmode, Sondkar, Pehlkar, and Amble. All were stationed at the local crime investigation branch in Mangaon.

Superintendent Aanchal Dalal has initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. She stated that if further officers are found guilty during the investigation, appropriate actions will be taken against them as well. This incident emphasizes the importance of maintaining discipline within the police department and adhering to proper procedures.

This suspension marks the second major action taken by Raigad police following the Pen-Khopoli case. Such steps are being implemented to enhance transparency and accountability within the police system. The public hopes for continued improvements in the police department and strict actions against any future discrepancies.

Superintendent Aanchal Dalal has sent a clear message that officers who break the law while enforcing it will not be treated leniently. The investigation is ongoing, and the police department may issue an official statement as more information becomes available.
