SIT Formed to Probe Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s Death; Injection Angle Under Scrutiny

Barmer, January 31 – A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of nine members has been formed by Jodhpur Police Commissioner Omprakash to ensure a thorough and impartial probe into the death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa. The SIT will be led by ACP Chhavi Sharma.

In a conversation with news agencies, Commissioner Omprakash stated that the team is investigating all possible angles related to the case. “We have already started recording statements from people connected to her,” he added.

Addressing the matter of an injection reportedly given seconds before Prem Baisa’s death, the police chief said that this aspect is also being examined closely from every perspective.

Police officials have indicated that at this stage, the possibility of a major conspiracy cannot be ruled out. Teams are currently gathering information from the hours leading up to her death, including mobile call records, CCTV footage from the ashram, and other digital evidence.

A crucial part of the investigation revolves around the injection allegedly administered shortly before her death. The compounder, Devi Singh, who reportedly gave the injection, has been taken into custody for questioning. Authorities are probing whether the injection was given on a doctor’s advice, what medication was used, and if it played any role in her death.

The police are awaiting the post-mortem report, which is expected to provide clear information on the cause and exact time of death.

The SIT is also planning to widen the scope of the investigation by questioning Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s father and members associated with the Sadhna Kutir Ashram on Pal Road in Jodhpur.

Originally from Pareu village in Balotra, Prem Baisa faced early hardships after losing her mother at the age of two. Under the guidance of spiritual gurus Sant Rajaram and Sant Kriparam Maharaj, she mastered Bhagwat Katha and devotional singing, eventually gaining recognition across Rajasthan.

Her ashram, Sadhna Kutir, was inaugurated by well-known figures including yoga guru Baba Ramdev. However, her untimely death has raised serious questions throughout Rajasthan.
