New Delhi, August 22: Mayank Yadav is regarded as the future of Indian fast bowling. Currently, he is playing for East Delhi Riders in the Delhi Premier League (DPL). Team captain Simarjeet Singh has praised Mayank’s contributions.
Simarjeet highlighted Mayank’s importance both on and off the field. He stated, “In my opinion, Mayank is one of the fastest bowlers in India. It’s great to see how involved he is in Delhi cricket. He enjoys the game and shares stories from his time with the national team, inspiring junior players. I really enjoy bowling alongside him.”
When asked about bowling together under pressure, Simarjeet mentioned, “We constantly communicate during matches about who to push at specific moments and what the best options are from both ends. If I’m bowling, we discuss what Mayank’s role should be, and vice versa. We keep a close eye on the match situation to maintain control of the game.”
Regarding the team’s performance, Simarjeet said, “We’ve focused on giving our best as players and returning with a strong mindset. Instead of stressing over whether we are in or out of the tournament, we concentrate on playing good cricket and showing the coaching staff, management, and fans what we are capable of.”
He added, “We are not thinking about other teams. We are focusing on our game and learning for the future as cricketers. With domestic and state cricket coming up, we want to ensure we don’t repeat past mistakes. Our goal now is to perform well and finish the tournament strongly as a team.”
