Mumbai: Reality TV has always captivated audiences, helping many stars carve a niche while maintaining a lasting presence in viewers’ minds. Siddharth Bhardwaj is one such personality, known for his impactful participation in shows like ‘Splitsvilla 2’, ‘Bigg Boss 5’, and ‘Roadies’.
After a considerable break from reality television, Siddharth is making a comeback through a unique new show titled ‘The 50’. In a recent interview with Daily Kiran, he revealed the reasons behind his long hiatus and his decision to join this fresh format.
Why Siddharth Chose ‘The 50’
Siddharth expressed his attraction to the show’s distinctive style, saying, “I liked the unique format of ‘The 50’. Nothing quite like this has been done before in India. The show’s unpredictable and challenging environment excites me. That’s why, after a long gap, I decided to take up this project. The atmosphere reminds me of ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Splitsvilla’, where strategy and alliances play a crucial role.”
Reflecting on His Reality TV Journey
Sharing insights from his reality TV experience, Siddharth stated, “I am among the few contestants who experienced the early authentic phases of ‘Bigg Boss’, ‘Splitsvilla’, and ‘Roadies’. This journey taught me the importance of staying calm and acting wisely in tough situations. Being part of the crowd and reacting impulsively or aggressively is never the right approach. I made mistakes but learned valuable lessons that helped me grow.”
Following ‘Bigg Boss 5’, Siddharth distanced himself from reality shows but appeared in ‘Fear Factor’ during this period.
Focus on Acting and Avoiding Typecasting
He explained, “No TV or OTT show came close to the scale or challenge of my previous reality shows. I avoided smaller projects and concentrated on improving my acting skills through web series and films. My goal was to avoid being typecast solely as a reality TV personality and to enhance my craft.”
Views on Meme Culture and Viral Clips
Addressing the impact of meme culture on reality TV moments, especially a recent viral clip involving former ‘Bigg Boss 5’ contestants Pooja Mishra and Sonali Nagarani recreated by Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, Siddharth said, “It doesn’t affect me. I don’t dwell on my past shows; instead, I focus professionally on every new project and keep moving forward.”
With his return to reality television through ‘The 50’, Siddharth Bhardwaj aims to bring his experience and strategic gameplay back to the small screen, promising viewers a fresh and engaging spectacle.
