
Mumbai, August 21: Actor and television host Anup Soni has revisited memories from his crime thriller film ‘Class of 83’ as it marks its sixth anniversary. He described his role in the film as one of the most interesting of his career. Soni shared several images from the film on social media, explaining why working on it was a memorable experience for him. He also expressed gratitude to director Atul Sabharwal.
On Instagram, Soni posted pictures from the film, stating, “It’s been six years since ‘Class of 83’ was released. The character I portrayed is the most intriguing role of my career. Playing this role allowed me to showcase different phases of one person’s life, making it unique and special compared to my other characters.”
He elaborated, “In the film, I played a politician whose life spans nearly 20 years, depicted at various times. It was essential for me to understand how that person’s personality and demeanor changed over time. The film provided me the opportunity to portray a politician from multiple angles, which I thoroughly enjoyed.”
Soni further mentioned that he put significant effort into developing his character’s look and the different stages of his life. “Showing the same person at different ages and in various circumstances was a fascinating acting experience for me,” he added.
He also shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the film set, including one with actor Bobby Deol.
Reflecting on his experience, Anup Soni specifically thanked director Atul Sabharwal, stating, “Thanks to Atul Sabharwal’s direction and the entire team, this project became memorable for me. I am grateful to everyone involved for their support. Being part of this project was a remarkable experience.”
In ‘Class of 83,’ Anup Soni played the role of Chief Minister Manohar Patkar, while Bobby Deol portrayed Additional Director General of Police Vijay Singh. The film revolves around the police and crime world, featuring various characters, each with their unique stories. Gitika Tyagi played Bobby Deol’s character’s wife, Sudha Singh, while Bhupendra Jadhav appeared as Pramod Shukla.
Directed by Atul Sabharwal, ‘Class of 83’ was produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and released on Netflix on August 21, 2020.
