Siddaramaiah to Brief Rahul Gandhi on Sting Operation Controversy
Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah plans to update Rahul Gandhi on a controversial sting operation involving Congress members.

New Delhi, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met with AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal in New Delhi on November 2. Amid ongoing controversy surrounding an alleged sting operation, he is expected to discuss the matter with Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
Siddaramaiah aims to inform party leadership about recent developments and explore the possibility that some party members might be implicated in the sting operation. He has already conferred with close associates regarding this issue. Previously, he hinted at having filed a complaint about the sting operation, criticizing the investigation’s integrity.
During the meeting with Venugopal, several Karnataka Congress leaders were present alongside Siddaramaiah. The sting operation has sparked significant political turmoil in Karnataka, with the Central Crime Branch (CCB) investigating the circumstances surrounding the viral video and its recording.
Siddaramaiah has labeled the alleged sting operation as a calculated “blackmail conspiracy.” He specifically named a journalist and Kripa Alva from Mangaluru, suggesting their involvement. His comments have intensified the controversy, pushing the matter into the national political arena, with accusations of Congress members’ involvement.
He asserted that throughout his tenure as Chief Minister and his extensive political career, he has never faced such allegations. He accused unidentified individuals of employing political tactics to blackmail him and emphasized that he has committed no wrongdoing.
Siddaramaiah dismissed the video circulating on social media, which makes sexual harassment claims regarding a 2011 incident, as completely baseless. He described it as a malicious political campaign aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
He has formally lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru Police Commissioner, demanding a fair and transparent investigation to expose the real culprits behind this fabricated case. Additionally, he has approached the Bengaluru City Civil and Sessions Court to seek a stay order preventing newspapers, television channels, and social media platforms from publishing or broadcasting the unverified video.
