Shubham Tiwari Celebrates PM Modis Global Recognition for Indias Agricultural Policies

Shahdol, May 22: Young entrepreneur Shubham Tiwari, founder and operator of Granoxy Unit, hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s receipt of the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) prestigious ‘Agricola Medal’ as a moment of pride for India. He emphasized that this honor signifies global recognition of India’s agricultural policies, food security model, and farmer-centric approach.

In a conversation, Tiwari stated that the world now views India as a strong leader in agriculture and nutritional security. Under PM Modi’s leadership, India has achieved historic milestones in food security and agriculture. Even during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic, providing free rations to 800 million people has set a global example. Initiatives like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi have delivered direct financial support to millions of farmers. Additionally, advancements in technology, infrastructure, and digital systems in agriculture have significantly benefited farmers.

Tiwari noted that the global community is seriously examining India’s food security model and agricultural policies. Despite its large population, India has presented an effective model for food management, digital distribution, and farmer support. The recognition from international institutions like the FAO indicates that India’s policies are becoming a global benchmark.

He reiterated that India has consistently prioritized its farmers and domestic agricultural interests. Despite global pressures, policies like Minimum Support Price (MSP), food storage, and farmer assistance have been steadfastly maintained. By promoting a self-reliant agricultural model, India has demonstrated that farmers are the backbone of the economy and food security.

On the topics of millets, digital agriculture, and farmer welfare schemes, Tiwari mentioned that significant changes have occurred under PM Modi’s leadership. India has played a crucial role in giving global recognition to millets, which are now viewed as superfoods worldwide.

He shared that through Granoxy, he is actively working with farmers, women’s self-help groups, and a millet-based food ecosystem in the Shahdol region. Awareness and demand for millets are rapidly increasing, enhancing farmers’ incomes, improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable farming. Digital platforms, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and technology-driven agricultural schemes have played a significant role in delivering direct benefits to farmers. This transformation is evident not just in policies but also on the ground in villages.

Regarding PM Modi’s global popularity, Tiwari remarked that India’s rising international stature has empowered its agricultural diplomacy. Today, India’s ‘Farmer First’ policy, natural farming, and millet-based nutrition model are being taken seriously on a global scale. The country’s initiatives regarding millets have attracted worldwide attention, benefiting both farmers and millet startups. For emerging millet brands like Granoxy, this presents a significant opportunity to introduce India’s traditional grains to the global healthy food market.
