Mumbai, March 23: A horrifying incident has emerged from Virar, where a woman was brutally murdered and her body discarded in a field. The crime took place in the Shirwali area of Virar East, under the jurisdiction of the Mandvi police station in the Vasai tehsil region. The victim, estimated to be between 25 to 30 years old, has not yet been identified.
The woman suffered fatal injuries from a sharp weapon, with her throat slit and severe blows to the head. According to police officials, her body was discovered on March 21, approximately 30 meters away from the main road leading from Vajreshwari to Shirsaad, in the field of local farmer Ramesh Gharat. The shocking discovery sent ripples of panic through the area.
Senior Police Inspector Ranjit Aandhale of the Mandvi police station inspected the scene with his team and conducted a panchnama before sending the body for post-mortem. Initially, the case was registered as an accidental death, but further investigation revealed it to be a homicide. Consequently, the police have now registered a murder case.
The woman is described as having a dusky complexion. She was wearing pink leggings and a yellow top with white designs. Her identity remains unknown. Inspector Aandhale stated that four different teams, along with the crime branch, are investigating to uncover the motive behind the murder and identify the perpetrator. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and are optimistic about apprehending the suspect soon.
Previously, in the same Mandvi police station area, a man murdered his wife by strangulation over marital disputes and disposed of her body in a mine.
