
New Delhi, June 17: A shocking incident has unfolded in Sangam Vihar, South Delhi, where a 40-year-old man was shot dead on Wednesday. The brutal act has instilled fear in the local community. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, actively searching for the suspect.
Initial reports indicate that the shooting occurred behind a Shiva temple on Street Number 16 in Sangam Vihar. Multiple rounds of gunfire caused panic in the area. Authorities were alerted promptly. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
The deceased, a resident of H Block, was approximately 40 years old. Following the incident, the assailant fled the scene and is believed to be a family member of the victim.
A local resident reported that they were retrieving nails from scrap when a young man approached and attempted to seize their tools. When they resisted, the assailant became aggressive. During this confrontation, another nearby individual tried to intervene, resulting in the shooting.
An eyewitness stated that both the suspect and the victim belonged to the same family and had previously engaged in disputes. The witness noted that four to five rounds were fired during the altercation. They also mentioned that the family had discouraged others from intervening in their personal matters.
Currently, police are treating familial rivalry as the motive behind the murder. Officials have confirmed that they are exploring all angles related to the case, while efforts to apprehend the suspect are ongoing.
