Munger, June 22: A disturbing incident has emerged from a village in the Shampur police station area of Bihar’s Munger district. A 15-year-old neighbor has been accused of assaulting a five-year-old girl who was home alone. The incident reportedly occurred late Sunday evening.
The girl’s mother filed a complaint at the Shampur police station, naming the accused. She informed the police that she had stepped out for a brief errand, leaving her daughter alone at home. During this time, the neighbor entered their house and committed the heinous act.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Imran Masood confirmed that the incident took place on Sunday. The police received information around 3-4 PM regarding the assault on the young girl. The accused is identified as a minor, aged 15.
The shocking details came to light when the mother returned home. Upon seeing her, the little girl burst into tears and recounted the ordeal. The mother then rushed to the police station to report the incident. Following the report, Haveli Khargpur SDPO Anil Kumar and Circle Inspector Arvind Kumar arrived at the scene to question the victim.
The minor accused has since been apprehended, and the SDPO along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has collected evidence. The police are continuing with the necessary legal proceedings.
In a related incident, another case of brutality against a minor was reported last Saturday in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. A nine-month-old girl, who had been missing, was found unconscious about 500 meters from her home in a tin shed. Her clothing was disheveled, and her condition was critical.
According to family members, the baby was sleeping in her bed around 2 AM on Friday night. When the family awoke later, she was gone. After a night of searching without any leads, local villagers discovered her in the tin shed the next morning and immediately alerted the police. Based on their inquiries, a man, believed to be the girl’s uncle, was arrested. He confessed to the crime, stating that he had taken the child from her home while intoxicated and assaulted her in a nearby field.
