Shaina NC Questions Oppositions Claims on Election Fairness

New Delhi, May 5: Political reactions have intensified following the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan described this mandate as a significant responsibility, stating that the people of Bengal have placed their trust in the BJP.

Speaking to reporters, Pradhan emphasized, “This victory is not just a political success; it is a responsibility entrusted by the public that must be fulfilled with utmost sincerity.” He also noted that citizens have expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and supported the development agenda.

Shiv Sena’s national spokesperson Shaina NC launched a sharp attack on Mamata Banerjee, asserting that she is unable to accept her defeat and is questioning the electoral process. She pointed out that when the Trinamool Congress won in 2021, there were no questions raised about the electronic voting machines. Shaina NC remarked that the high voter turnout this time indicates that the public desired change and has delivered a clear mandate.

Addressing the issue of names being removed from the voter list, Shaina NC stated that the Election Commission has clarified that most of the removed names were duplicates or deceased individuals. She criticized the opposition for making excuses after their loss.

Rahul Gandhi had raised questions about the Election Commission’s impartiality. In response, Shaina NC asked how the Congress managed to win in Kerala if the Election Commission is not fair. She accused the opposition of attempting to spread confusion instead of accepting their defeat.

Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also targeted the opposition, stating that when political parties lose, they tend to blame the Election Commission. He argued that if there were any irregularities in the electoral process, the BJP would have also won in states like Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He added that where the BJP has succeeded, it expresses gratitude to the public, and where it has not, it aims to perform better in the future.

In response to Samajwadi Party leader Kiranmay Nanda linking TMC’s defeat to corruption and misgovernance, Maurya stated that this reflects an acceptance of reality. He described the BJP’s victory as a symbol of good governance, development, and security. He also took a jab at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, advising him to prepare for defeat in the 2027 elections.
