Seattle, March 17: Two key players from the Seattle Seahawks, linebacker Drake Thomas and offensive guard Anthony Bradford, received performance-based pay bonuses on Monday.

While these bonuses are termed “performance-based,” they are calculated based on the amount of playtime rather than the quality of performance. The intricate formula divides playing time by snap count over total salary for the year. Since Thomas and Bradford played significantly more than their salaries indicated last season, they qualified for these bonuses. Only 23 other players across the league also met the criteria. Thomas received $1.022 million, while Bradford earned $1.098 million.
Thomas became a starter after just three weeks last season and rarely left the field, logging 871 total snaps. Bradford started every game, totaling 1,223 snaps. Compared to their respective salaries of $1.038 million and $1.239 million, they earned significantly less per snap than other Seahawks players.
Guards were notably prevalent on the bonus list, making up 7 of the 25 players. This is expected, as they typically do not get rotated or receive large contracts. Only two other linebackers made the list, but Thomas stood out in several ways last season.
These bonuses pertain to their 2025 seasons, meaning they do not impact the players’ current salaries or the team’s salary cap.
