School Bus Accident in Daund Leaves Over 15 Students Injured

Daund, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : A severe accident occurred on Wednesday morning involving a Maharashtra State Transport (ST) bus carrying school students on the route from Choufula to Supa Ghat in Daund, Pune district. The driver lost control of the bus, causing it to plunge into a gorge and flip over two to three times. More than 15 students sustained injuries, with several reported in critical condition.

Following the incident, a case was registered at the Yavat police station. The complaint was filed by 15-year-old Arya Indrabhanu Shitole, a resident of Padvi, against the bus driver, Rahul Trimbak Madavi. The charges include violations under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act.

According to police reports, the ST bus was traveling on the Choufula to Supa Ghat route when the driver, disregarding traffic regulations, drove recklessly, leading to the loss of control and the subsequent crash down the slope.

Among the injured are Arya Shitole, Viraj Shitole, Tilekar, Vedant Shitole, Rinyash Lad, Aishwarya Pitaliya, Rohit Pitaliya, Shuvansh Shitole, Swara Shitole, and others. All the injured students are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals. The investigation into the incident is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Kadam.
