Jaipur, September 16 (Patrika English News). The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team in Baran on Tuesday arrested a Sarpanch (Administrator) and his aide while they were allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹12,000.

According to ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava, a complaint was filed by the victim alleging that Sarpanch Surajmal Malav of Gram Panchayat Khedla Jagir, Tehsil Chhipabarod, demanded a bribe to correct the names of his nephews in the ration card and to release the third instalment of ₹60,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana into his account.
A secret verification confirmed the bribe demand. Following this, under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Ram Verma, the ACB Baran team laid a trap and caught Surajmal Malav along with his middleman, Ramkalyan Meghwal, red-handed while accepting the bribe amount.
Both accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation under the Prevention of Corruption Act is underway.
