Sanjay Singh Meets Akhilesh Yadav: A Fight for Rights from Streets to Parliament

Lucknow, August 23: The issue of reservation and the rights of backward classes is once again becoming a focal point in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. On Sunday, Sanjay Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), met with Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party (SP).

After the meeting, Singh accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to eliminate reservation. He stated that a battle would be fought from the streets to Parliament and the Supreme Court against these efforts.

Sanjay Singh shared details of the meeting on the social media platform ‘X’, mentioning the recruitment of 69,000 teachers. He alleged that the Yogi government has undermined the rights of backward classes in this recruitment. He emphasized the need to intensify the struggle against the BJP to protect the Constitution and reservation.

On ‘X’, Singh wrote that the BJP poses the greatest threat to the Constitution and reservation. He noted that the party has renewed its campaign to abolish reservation, which must be thwarted. He reiterated that the Yogi government has deprived backward classes of their rights in the 69,000 teacher recruitment process. The fight for these rights will continue from the streets to Parliament and the Supreme Court. The discussion with Akhilesh Yadav covered various such issues in detail.

This meeting between Singh and Yadav comes at a time when political parties in Uttar Pradesh are busy strategizing for the 2027 assembly elections. The opposition is consistently targeting the BJP government over issues like reservation, the Constitution, and the rights of backward classes.

Currently, the reservation issue is once again at the center of political and social debate. On one hand, organizations linked to the upper castes are advocating for equality and reservation based on economic criteria. On the other hand, opposition parties are persistently confronting the BJP government over the issues of reservation and social justice. Both Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, have already expressed their views on reservation.
