Sanjay Raut Dismisses Party Split Rumors, Asserts Unity Among MPs

New Delhi, June 17: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has recently responded to rumors regarding a split within the party. He clarified that currently, nine MPs are actively engaged in the Lok Sabha, and there is no official confirmation of any significant division.

Speaking to a news agency, Raut addressed the ongoing media reports suggesting that some party MPs or leaders are preparing to break away or leave the party. He labeled these reports as misleading, stating that no clear reasons have emerged for anyone to depart from the party.

Raut also mentioned that the party has met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla regarding this matter. During the meeting, they informed the Speaker that if any member intends to separate or form a new party, the party’s perspective should be heard first, ensuring adherence to constitutional procedures.

He added that the party has submitted a formal application and urged the Speaker to act in accordance with the Constitution, laws, and Supreme Court guidelines concerning defection-related issues. Any political maneuvering in a democratic setup should be evaluated under established rules.

Raut claimed that recent political discussions hint at allegations involving money aimed at influencing legislators or MPs. However, he did not specify any individuals or parties, emphasizing that the truth of such matters should be revealed.

He acknowledged the ongoing turbulence in Maharashtra’s politics but affirmed that his party remains fully organized and prepared to face any potential challenges. Raut expressed confidence that those discussing leaving the party should prove their stance democratically among the public.
