Mumbai, March 31: Sanjay Nirupam, spokesperson for Shiv Sena, has expressed strong support for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s firm stance on illegal immigration. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies during these challenging times.
Nirupam stated that India has played a responsible “big brother” role, particularly in addressing its responsibilities towards neighboring countries amid the current global crisis.
In an interview, he highlighted that during a time of pressure on LPG supply in the country, Prime Minister Modi’s assistance to neighboring Sri Lanka exemplified humanity and diplomacy.
He noted that due to the ongoing crisis in West Asia, Sri Lanka faced a severe fuel shortage, which India addressed by supplying fuel. This action has been commended by Sri Lanka’s top leadership, who expressed gratitude towards the Indian government. Nirupam described this as a symbol of India’s “Neighborhood First” policy and regional cooperation spirit.
He pointed out that tensions in West Asia remain high, with escalating conflicts between Iran, Israel, and the United States. He warned that this ongoing struggle could impact global supply chains, and the Indian government is vigilant and taking necessary steps.
Nirupam criticized the opposition Congress party, accusing it of spreading rumors and creating panic among the public during this crisis. He urged Congress to rise above politics and support the country and government with constructive suggestions rather than inciting fear among citizens.
Regarding the issue of illegal immigration, Nirupam agreed with Amit Shah’s view that merely stopping illegal entrants is not enough. Identifying these immigrants and repatriating them to their countries is essential. He believes this will strengthen national security and enhance citizens’ sense of safety.
