(Daily Kiran Tech Desk): Samsung has expanded its gaming monitor lineup with the launch of the Odyssey OLED G50SF, now available in China, Taiwan, New Zealand, and Indonesia. Positioned as a more budget-friendly alternative to the premium Odyssey OLED G60SF, the new model offers strong gaming performance without the hefty price tag.

Odyssey OLED G50SF

The Odyssey OLED G50SF features a 27-inch flat QD-OLED panel with QHD (2560×1440) resolution. It supports a 180Hz refresh rate via DisplayPort and 144Hz via HDMI, ensuring fluid gameplay with minimal lag. The 0.03ms (GTG) response time enhances motion clarity during fast-paced gaming sessions.

The display covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports HDR10, providing deep blacks, vibrant colors, and excellent contrast with a 1,000,000:1 static contrast ratio. Its Glare-Free coating, Eye Saver Mode, and Flicker-Free technology make it comfortable for extended gaming sessions.

The monitor’s design remains simple yet functional, offering tilt adjustment, VESA mount compatibility, and burn-in protection for durability. It weighs 3.3 kg with the stand and 2.5 kg without, with tilt angles adjustable from -2° to 15°.

In terms of connectivity, the G50SF includes one DisplayPort 1.2, one HDMI 2.0 port, and a headphone jack. It supports both AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync, minimizing screen tearing and stutter. Power consumption averages 28W, with a peak of 78W using an external adapter.

The Odyssey OLED G50SF is priced at NZD 899 (≈$517) in New Zealand, CNY 2,649 (≈$372) in China, TWD 13,900 (≈$455) in Taiwan, and Rp7,999,000 (≈$482) in Indonesia. Samsung has yet to confirm a global launch, though wider availability is expected later this year.
