Seoul, September 12 (Patrika English News): Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch the Galaxy S26 Ultra with notable design and hardware changes compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The upcoming flagship is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, while its telephoto camera may see a downgrade in resolution.

According to tipster PhoneArt (@UniverseIce), the Galaxy S26 Ultra could house a 12MP 3x telephoto camera cropped to 10MP, featuring a 1/3.94 sensor and 1.0µm pixels. This would be a step down from the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 12MP Sony IMX754 sensor, cropped to 10MP with a 1/3.52 sensor and 1.12µm pixels. While the difference may appear small, it could impact the sensor’s light-capturing ability.
Reports also suggest that Samsung may introduce Flex Magic Pixel technology in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This feature would adjust screen viewing angles, making it harder for people nearby to view the display — a step towards enhanced on-device privacy. The same technology may also debut in upcoming Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip models.
In addition, Samsung is gearing up to launch its first triple-fold smartphone, tipped to be called the Galaxy Z TriFold. First teased at the Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this year, the foldable is rumoured to debut in South Korea on September 29 alongside Samsung’s XR headset and AI-powered smart glasses. The TriFold device is expected to feature a silicon-carbon battery for improved efficiency.
