Salim Dola, Close Associate of Dawood Ibrahim, Sent to Transit Remand by Court

New Delhi, April 28: The Patiala House Court has placed Salim Dola, a close associate of international crime lord Dawood Ibrahim and a key member of a drug syndicate, in a two-day transit remand. He was presented before the judge earlier today.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) informed the court that Dola needs to be taken to Mumbai, where a case has been registered against him. The trafficker was apprehended in Istanbul, Turkey, and brought back to India as part of a joint operation.

In a significant international crackdown, the NCB successfully repatriated the notorious drug trafficker Mohammed Salim Dola from Turkey. Upon his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, the NCB took him into custody.

Salim Dola is a resident of Mumbai and had been evading Indian agencies for a long time. Multiple drug trafficking cases have been filed against him in India, and he was listed as a fugitive. In March 2024, Interpol issued a red notice against him at India’s request.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the NCB for its operation to bring back drug trafficker Mohammed Salim Dola from Turkey. He emphasized that the government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drug mafias and narcotic syndicates is ongoing, with agencies working diligently in this direction.

Amit Shah posted on the social media platform X, stating that the NCB achieved a major success in repatriating the infamous drug trafficker Mohammed Salim Dola from Turkey. He noted that under the Modi government’s mission to completely dismantle drug cartels, our anti-narcotics agencies have established a robust network with global agencies, ensuring that there is no safe haven for drug lords, no matter where they hide.
