Hyderabad, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : The Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) kicked off their campaign in the 6th Hockey India Senior Men’s Inter-Department National Championship 2026 with a commanding 12-1 victory over Tamil Nadu Police in Hyderabad.
Amandeep Lakra and Simranjot Singh each scored a hat trick, while Shreyas Dhupe contributed two goals to the impressive win. Other scorers included Rohit, Rahim Syed Niyaz (captain), Rawat Yogambar, and Lovepreet Singh.
In Pool A, the Central Secretariat (CS) also marked their second consecutive win by defeating the Armed Border Force (SSB) 5-1. Captain Chandan Singh and Bharat Mahalimgappa Kurtakoti each netted two goals, with Manikanta Venkateshwarlu adding the fifth.
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) secured their second win in the tournament as well. After a staggering 20-1 victory against the Defence Accounts Sports Control Board in their first match, SAI continued their success by beating the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 5-0 in their second match.
The All India Police Sports Control Board also achieved their second victory in Pool C, overcoming the Steel Plant Sports Board 4-0. Arun Sahni scored a hat trick, with Singh Suraj adding another goal. The Food Corporation of India (FCI) showcased strong performance as well, defeating the Steel Plant Sports Board 4-0, thanks to two goals each from Nitin and Navraj Singh.
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) triumphed in a high-scoring match against Punjab and Sind Bank, winning 5-4 after previously defeating the CRPF 4-1. The Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) began their campaign with a 6-3 win over the Steel Plant Sports Board but faltered in their second match, losing 2-5 to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
In a thrilling encounter, the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) drew 4-4 with Punjab National Bank. For PSPB, Chirumako Sudip, Tirki Dipson, Dilbar Barla, and Singh Talwinder scored, while PNB’s goals came from Sachin, Singh Gursimran, Panchal Prikshant, and Mahipal. PSPB had previously won their first match against the Armed Border Force 7-1.
