Winning the toss, England opted to bat first and posted an impressive total of 387 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Ben Duckett and Jacob Bethel formed a formidable opening partnership, scoring 192 runs off 181 balls.
Bethel contributed 91 runs from 93 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 11 fours before being dismissed. Duckett continued the momentum, adding 101 runs with Joe Root for the second wicket in just 80 balls, bringing the team to a score of 293.
