Reasi Police Arrests Individual for Illegal Liquor Trade

Reasi, May 1: The Reasi police in Jammu and Kashmir have successfully cracked down on illegal liquor trade under the ongoing campaign for a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir. This operation was conducted under the guidance of SSP Reasi Mukund Tibreval.

On the night of April 30, a police team from Katra police station set up a checkpoint in Parthal, Katra. During the search, they apprehended an individual named Balbir Singh, son of Malakar Singh, a resident of Katra.

The search revealed two half bottles of illegally stored liquor (approximately 350 milliliters each) and three bottles of Groovy Jera Rum (approximately 180 milliliters each).

In this regard, an FIR has been registered at Katra police station under Section 223(A) BNS, and further investigations are underway. The Reasi police remain committed to eliminating the dangers of substance abuse and urge the public to share information and cooperate regarding illegal activities.

Previously, in a continued effort to combat the threat of narcotics in society, Banihal police arrested a drug trafficker and seized a heroin-like substance. During a routine checkpoint inspection at Railway Chowk, a police team from Banihal police station observed an individual acting suspiciously and skillfully apprehended him. The search revealed 4.54 grams of a heroin-like substance and polyethylene.

The individual identified himself as Tauheed Ahmed Khan, son of Jan Mohammad Khan, a resident of Hamdania Colony, Bemina, Srinagar. An NDPS Act case has been registered at Banihal police station, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle a broader drug network. Banihal police reiterate their firm commitment to maintaining a drug-free society and urge the public to support this noble mission.
