Mumbai, 10 December. Bhojpuri queen Rani Chatterjee, known for her straightforward roles in films, has always won audience admiration for her negative characters on television.

Now, she has taken on the role of a dacoit in a new TV serial, coming to settle old scores with Ghevar and the Thakurs. The actress has shared a video showcasing her new character.

Rani Chatterjee has made her entry on Sun Niyo TV channel’s serial ‘Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani’. In the new promo, she appears as Jwala, a fierce rebel dacoit. She dons dark-coloured clothes typical of dacoits, sports a red band on her forehead, and holds a gun. Her grand entry is marked by arriving in a palanquin, and upon entering the mansion, she brings the Thakurs to their knees. Ghevar is seen pleading before the rebel Jwala. Fans’ excitement has grown after watching the new promo.

Sharing the promo, Rani wrote, “Rebel Jwala Rani has arrived at the mansion… What does she want from the Thakurs? Watch ‘Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani’ on 12 December, Friday, at 9:00 pm.”

The serial began in August, focusing on Ghevar (Gauri Shelgaonkar) and Kunwar Kundan (Akash Jagga). Ghevar is a girl from a poor family burdened with debt and responsible for a younger brother. Kunwar Kundan, hurt by love, has no place for it in his heart but respects women. To ease Ghevar’s troubles, Kundan marries her, although love is absent between them. Ghevar strives to win the hearts of Kundan and the mansion’s residents. Initially, the family does not approve of their relationship, but love gradually blooms.

To add a twist, the makers have introduced Rani Chatterjee, whose character will bring a new dimension to Ghevar and Kundan’s relationship.
