Mumbai, June 25: The popularity of crime and thriller stories on OTT platforms is rapidly increasing. One such new web series, ‘Rakh’, is capturing audience attention. Actor Ramdeep Yadav, who plays a pivotal role in the series, shared insights about his character.
Yadav explained that his character is not just frightening; there is a deep story and thought process behind it. In an interview, he stated, “I portray a character named Rajjo, who is a serial killer. This character is not static; it evolves and progresses, while another character in the series is depicted as more impulsive and violent. There is a significant difference between my character and that one.”
When asked whether he portrayed anger and violence thoughtlessly, Yadav responded, “That’s not the case. An artist does not merely act from observation. Every aspect must be understood. From an outside perspective, it may seem like the character acts without thought, but in reality, every scene has a rationale. No matter how evil a character may be, there is always a reason behind their actions.”
Yadav elaborated on his character’s background, saying, “My character hails from Haryana and has faced numerous hardships. His life is significantly impacted during the Emergency, leading him to fall into addiction. These experiences have altered his way of thinking and living, which is why my character has become what he is.”
The web series ‘Rakh’ is a crime thriller set against the backdrop of the 1970s. It is inspired by a true incident involving the kidnapping and murder of children, prompting a dedicated investigation by police and agencies.
The series features notable actors such as Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, Proshit Roy, Anusha Nandakumar, Aamir Bashir, and Sandeep Saket in key roles. ‘Rakh’ is available for streaming on the OTT platform Prime Video.
