Ram Gopal Yadav Urges PM Modi to Mediate in Middle East Conflicts

New Delhi, March 25: Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav has stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have taken the initiative to mediate during the ongoing conflicts in Western Asia. He emphasized that India, as the world’s largest democracy, has the capability to play a significant role in international diplomacy, given that PM Modi is well-acquainted with global leaders.

Regarding the mediation efforts by Pakistan in the Iran-Israel conflict, Yadav remarked, “Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey are currently mediating. This mediation should have been led by PM Modi and India. As the largest democratic nation, India has a unique position, and PM Modi knows all the leaders involved.”

He further noted, “Many countries have awarded PM Modi their highest national honors. Therefore, his opinions should be taken seriously. However, it is essential to understand what discussions he had with Donald Trump. The Parliament and the nation deserve clarity on this matter.”

Yadav also responded to questions raised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi about India’s foreign policy. He stated, “The foreign policy is primarily determined under the leadership of PM Modi, who decides our relations with other countries. This has been the case since Jawaharlal Nehru’s time. Our non-aligned policy was crafted by Nehru, and now PM Modi is deviating from it.”

On the central government’s call for an all-party meeting, Yadav mentioned that a meeting is scheduled for 5 PM, with information received on Tuesday. Javed Ali Khan and Dharmendra Yadav will represent the Samajwadi Party, with two leaders from each party attending.

Additionally, the SP MP expressed opposition to the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill to be presented in Parliament. He stated, “This bill is fraught with objections. Who can stand against the government? They do not acknowledge the Supreme Court’s decisions. An Assistant Commandant may take 30 years to become a Deputy Commandant, while those who pass the same exam become IPS DGs. It’s important to recognize how many have taken DRS out of despair.”

He concluded by saying that he raised his voice against this during Zero Hour. Yadav emphasized that it is these soldiers who protect politicians, and they are often the ones who sacrifice their lives both at the borders and within the country.
