Controversy Surrounds Dhurandhar 2 as AIMIM Leader Claims Anti-Muslim Sentiment

New Delhi, March 25: The film ‘Dhurandhar 2,’ starring Ranveer Singh, is performing exceptionally well at the box office. However, AIMIM leader Shaukat Ali has raised concerns, claiming the film promotes anti-Muslim sentiments.

In a conversation in Lucknow, Ali stated that since India’s independence, films have often depicted criminals and ISI agents wearing caps and carrying handkerchiefs. He believes this film aims to tarnish the image of Muslims, a recurring theme in cinema.

Ali referenced the late mafia don and gangster Atiq Ahmed without naming him, suggesting that while Ahmed was alive, he was not labeled an ISI agent, but posthumously, he has been portrayed as one.

Commenting on MLA Pooja Pal’s statements, Ali remarked that they belong to the same political family. He noted that Pal has been associated with the Samajwadi Party and the BSP, and has not yet joined the BJP. He urged Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to respond to Pal’s remarks.

Regarding law and order in Uttar Pradesh, Ali highlighted the Supreme Court’s stern comments on the government’s actions. He pointed out that the High Court has criticized the bulldozer policy, questioning whether it symbolizes justice. “If you talk about justice through bulldozers or guns, it should apply to everyone equally,” he asserted.

Ali emphasized that justice should not be based on caste or religion, stating, “We are all part of the same country, and the law that applies to you should also apply to us.”
