New Delhi, August 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan on Friday at his official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, with schoolchildren. During the festivities, young girls tied rakhis on the Prime Minister’s wrist, recited poems, and asked him intriguing questions. PM Modi engaged in light-hearted banter, blessed the children, and responded warmly to their conversations.
The Prime Minister shared a video of the Raksha Bandhan celebration, showing him warmly greeting the children, giving high-fives, and interacting with them. One girl tied a lotus-shaped rakhi and explained that it was a “lotus rakhi.” PM Modi smiled and responded, “Lotus?”
During a poetry recital, a girl expressed that whenever she felt broken, her brother was there to support her. After listening, PM Modi praised her and blessed her.
In a light-hearted moment, one girl wished PM Modi a “Happy Birthday,” prompting him to ask when his birthday is. The girl replied, “September 17,” to which PM Modi smiled and said, “Happy Birthday in advance!”
Another girl presented a special rakhi focused on the environment and artificial intelligence (AI). She mentioned that her school plants trees under the Prime Minister’s “One Tree for Mother” initiative and promised to learn AI responsibly to help others. PM Modi encouraged her, saying, “Well done!”
A student who read the book ‘Exam Warriors’ shared that she used to fear exams but now considers herself an “exam warrior.” PM Modi blessed her to work hard and move forward.
Noticing a girl with a broken tooth, PM Modi jokingly asked, “Where did all your teeth go?” The girl replied, “They broke and fell out.” PM Modi then asked if she eats bitter gourd, to which she replied that neither she nor her brother eats it.
In a conversation with a girl from Ujjain, PM Modi asked, “When will you take me to see Mahakal?” The girl replied, “When I grow up.” PM Modi responded, “Bring me Mahakal’s prasad; I will ask for it.”
One student recited a poem on ‘Make in India’ and ‘Developed India,’ while another girl presented a rakhi themed around ‘Pixel India.’ PM Modi appreciated her efforts, saying, “You have done a great job.”
At the end of the program, a girl asked PM Modi about his childhood dream. He smiled and replied, “To meet people like you.” The children pledged to draw inspiration from the Prime Minister to advance India.
