
Jaipur, April 15: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma directed officials on Wednesday to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply across the state. He emphasized the state government’s commitment to strengthening the energy sector and achieving self-sufficiency.
During a high-level review meeting of the energy department at the Chief Minister’s residence, Sharma noted that improved management and sound policy decisions have significantly increased electricity production capacity. Additionally, there has been a notable reduction in losses during electricity transmission and distribution.
He stated that Rajasthan has made remarkable progress in renewable energy and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to provide reliable and high-quality electricity to every home and farm.
Sharma said, “Efforts are being made diligently to ensure sufficient electricity supply for domestic, agricultural, and industrial consumers.” Currently, farmers in 24 districts are receiving daytime electricity, which is a significant relief for the agricultural community. The government’s goal is to implement this facility statewide by 2027.
The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of pumped storage projects, describing them as cost-effective and efficient for long-term use. He also stressed the role of battery storage systems in promoting clean energy initiatives and maintaining grid stability.
He mentioned that these projects will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality and reliable electricity to consumers in the coming years. Sharma instructed officials to prioritize and expedite the implementation of these projects.
Present at the meeting were Energy Minister (Independent Charge) Hiralal Nagar, Chief Secretary V. Srinivasan, Principal Secretary (Finance) Vaibhav Gahlot, Energy Secretary Aarti Dogra, and other senior officials.
Following the meeting, the Chief Minister praised the progress in Rajasthan’s dairy sector in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, stating that this sector is not only advancing but also becoming a strong example of self-sufficiency.
He remarked, “Thanks to modern technology, robust policies, and the dedication of our hardworking livestock farmers, a new chapter of prosperity is being written in every village.”
