Senthil Velan from his position as Inspector General (Intelligence). Avinash Kumar has been appointed to take over immediately.
In an order issued on Sunday, the Election Commission mandated that Avinash Kumar, a 2004 batch IPS officer, be appointed as the new IG (Intelligence). The commission emphasized the need for administrative impartiality and efficiency ahead of the elections.
The directive, signed by Election Commission Secretary Madhusudan Gupta, is part of the commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure equal opportunities for all and maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
