Rajasthan Schools to Begin New Academic Year on April 1 with Enthusiastic Enrollment Drive

Jaipur, March 31: The academic session for government schools in Rajasthan for 2026-27 will commence on April 1 with renewed enthusiasm and extensive public participation.

Officials announced that to mark this beginning, a large-scale campaign called ‘Praveshotsav 2026’ will be organized throughout the state. The campaign aims to increase enrollment, reduce dropout rates, and ensure that every child is connected to education.

The education department has completed all necessary preparations and issued guidelines from the state level down to individual schools to ensure smooth implementation.

This year, the enrollment festival will not just be a formal event but a focused mission to bring every child into the mainstream of education. A key aspect of this initiative is an intensive door-to-door outreach campaign.

Officials stated that from March 27 to April 15, teams of Anganwadi workers, teachers, school staff, and local representatives will visit homes to identify and enroll children aged 3 to 18.

They further emphasized, “This extensive effort aims to ensure that no child is left out of the education system and that awareness about schooling reaches every family.”

Recently held ‘Mega Parent-Teacher Meetings’ (PTMs) have laid a strong foundation for this campaign. Education Minister Madan Dilawar, ACS (Education) Rajesh Yadav, and Director Sitaram Jat personally visited schools to review preparations and promote dialogue between parents and teachers.

This initiative has increased transparency and strengthened parents’ trust in government schools.

As a significant step, academic activities will commence with full vigor from the very first day of the academic session. The department has ensured timely distribution of textbooks. Most books reached districts by March 25, and the remaining will be delivered by April 1.

This guarantees that the goal of ‘learning from day one’ becomes a reality in all government schools.

To promote the holistic development of children, a digital health check campaign will begin on April 16. Regular health check-ups will be conducted for students, and necessary medical assistance will be provided. Additionally, special educational activities will be organized in May to strengthen basic education and improve overall educational outcomes.
