Jaipur, May 16: Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra raised serious concerns on Friday regarding the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) operations. He accused the agency of failing to protect the futures of millions of students amid ongoing controversies surrounding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) paper leaks.
Dotasra questioned why such a critical national examination is entrusted to the NTA, claiming that repeated incidents of paper leaks have exposed significant flaws in the examination system.
During a press conference at the Congress headquarters in Jaipur, he criticized the BJP government for the alleged NEET paper leaks. He stated that despite Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s repeated promises to eliminate the paper leak mafia, the NEET-2026 paper was leaked in Rajasthan, allegedly involving BJP leaders.
He alleged that influential individuals are being protected during investigations. Referring to statements from ruling party leaders, he noted that the state’s education minister remarked, “So what if the paper was leaked?” Meanwhile, BJP state president Madan Rathore reportedly attempted to downplay the issue by claiming the leak originated from Kerala.
Dotasra revealed that information from a political party leader arrested in connection with the NEET-2026 paper leak indicated that the NEET-2025 paper was also leaked in Rajasthan. He criticized the Rajasthan Special Operations Group for failing to file an FIR despite having knowledge of the 2025 paper leak, raising questions about whom they are protecting.
Over 2.2 million students participated in the NEET-2026 exam on May 3 after months of hard work and expensive coaching, only for the exam to be canceled due to the paper leak. He alleged that irregularities and paper leaks had also affected previous NEET examinations, including those in 2024 and 2025.
According to Dotasra, the investigation into the 2026 paper leak uncovered a network involving two individuals from Jamwaramgarh in Jaipur district. They are accused of repeatedly obtaining NEET question papers and selling them to family members and other candidates for money.
He claimed that five children from the families of Mangilal and Dinesh Biwal scored poorly in NEET-2024 but later achieved high marks in NEET-2025, gaining admission to government medical colleges without formal coaching. This connection to the 2025 paper leak only surfaced during the 2026 investigation.
Dotasra criticized the NTA’s operations, asserting that the central government has failed to secure the futures of students. He questioned why the responsibility for critical national examinations is given to an agency he described as “NGO-like.”
