Jaipur, May 21: Amid protests against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s comments targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore distributed chocolates to party workers on Thursday. He mocked Gandhi’s remarks about “melody” candies.
Rathore referred to Italy as Rahul Gandhi’s maternal home and claimed that the opposition leader became anxious upon seeing the melody candies. He suggested that this anxiety prevented Gandhi from recognizing the Prime Minister’s foreign policy and diplomacy.
The state BJP chief labeled Gandhi’s comments as childish and a reflection of political frustration. During a protest held at the state BJP headquarters in Jaipur, Rathore personally handed out chocolates while ridiculing Gandhi’s alleged candy remarks.
He also asserted that Rahul Gandhi possesses a juvenile intellect, lacking mental maturity, and stated that such comments are unbecoming of a national leader.
The BJP’s protest was a response to the language used by the opposition leader against the Prime Minister and Home Minister, which the party deemed derogatory.
BJP workers chanted slogans against Rahul Gandhi and marched from the state BJP office to Chaumun House Circle, where they burned an effigy of the Congress leader.
Addressing the party workers during the protest, Rathore recalled that Mahatma Gandhi had called for the dissolution of Congress after independence, but political interests kept it alive. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi is leading Congress toward destruction with his statements and actions, digging the party’s grave.
He accused Congress of rapidly losing public support and criticized the opposition party for resorting to cheap rhetoric instead of constructive politics. Rathore praised Prime Minister Modi for strengthening India’s global standing and economy through diplomacy and development, while the opposition leader remains preoccupied with childish statements.
Rathore also condemned Congress’s protests regarding the alleged NEET exam paper leak and their attempts to encircle the BJP headquarters in Jaipur. He claimed that Congress lacks the necessary public support for any significant movement and accused the party of staging protests merely to grab political headlines and media attention.
He emphasized that the BJP government has had no involvement in the NEET exam paper leak issue. He noted that there have been no incidents of paper leaks during the BJP’s governance in Rajasthan, whereas such events frequently occurred under Congress administrations without effective action.
Rathore stated that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has acted swiftly in the current NEET exam paper leak case and dismissed Congress’s allegations as baseless.
