Raj Shandilya Ends Contract with Balaji Telefilms, Calls Allegations Baseless

Mumbai, March 5: Director Raj Shandilya has officially terminated his contract with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures (Balaji Telefilms). In a statement, he labeled the allegations against him as unfounded.

Shandilya clarified that the termination notice was issued in accordance with his contractual rights, and it has been over two weeks since the notice was served.

He stated, “I issued a notice to terminate my contract with Balaji Telefilms based on my contractual rights. It has now been more than two weeks since the termination notice was issued. If Balaji believed they had a solid legal basis to challenge the termination, they could have approached civil court, but no such action has been initiated.”

He accused the company of attempting to make baseless criminal allegations instead. Shandilya emphasized that these claims are entirely groundless and seem more like intimidation tactics rather than a genuine challenge to the termination. He expressed confidence in his legal position and stated that he would address any accusations through the proper legal channels.

Additionally, Shandilya confirmed that his upcoming film ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ is on track and will proceed as scheduled. The film features stars like Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, and Paresh Rawal, and is a sequel to the hit comedy ‘Bhagam Bhag’ from 2006. He urged members of the creative industry to be vigilant against such pressure tactics and to exercise caution when forming professional associations in the future.

Raj Shandilya is not only a director but also a writer known for his work in films like ‘Dream Girl’, ‘Dream Girl 2’, and ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Wo Wala Video’. Reports indicate that Ekta Kapoor has filed a case against Shandilya, the producers of ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’, and Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, alleging breach of contract.
