Manisha Koirala Shares Transformative Experience with Letters to a Young Poet

Mumbai, July 23: Actress Manisha Koirala recently took to social media to share how a book profoundly impacted her perspective. On Thursday, she revealed that she finished reading “Letters to a Young Poet,” a gift from a friend about a month ago.

In her Instagram post, Koirala mentioned, “By chance, a friend gifted me ‘Letters to a Young Poet.’ I kept it by my bedside, thinking I would read it when I had time. Finally, I read it, and it made me ponder whether some books come into our lives at the right moment. They seem to arrive when we are not ready and quietly wait for the moment we need them the most.”

Expressing her emotions, Koirala noted that books have been her refuge during tough times. She stated, “As an artist, when it becomes difficult to articulate complex emotions, books have always been my support. They help me understand feelings for which I may not have the right words.”

She further reflected on three key lessons from Rainer Maria Rilke’s work. The first is to look within oneself, as the deepest answers often lie inside us. The second is to embrace solitude, as this quiet time fosters growth for both the artist and the soul. The third is to trust life and learn to live with one’s questions, as answers often reveal themselves over time.

After reading the book, Koirala felt a sense of lightness. She expressed, “When I closed the book, it felt like my mind had calmed, as if someone truly understood me. Perhaps that’s the beauty of great books. They don’t just provide answers; they gently guide us back to ourselves. Have you ever read a book that arrived in your life at just the right time?”
